Scott Glen grew up on a cattle ranch in southern Alberta, Canada. His family used dogs for help around the ranch only minimally and so he didn't know how much work a well trained dog could save a rancher. When he was in his early 20's, Scott decided to raise a flock of sheep. While on his way to a wool shearing class, he was distracted by a man and his border collie giving a sheepherding demo and he has been hooked on herding ever since. Scott has been training and trialing border collies to herd sheep and cattle for over 20 years. In 1997 he turned his hobby into a full time job, creating Alta-Pete Stockdogs. Scott chose the name Alta-Pete (which means "aim high") because it was his personal, and his family's Scottish clan motto.
Scott has proven his abilities by winning many major trials over the years with dogs from several different border collie lines. However, Sweep, the foundation sire for Alta-Pete stockdogs produced winning pups that have allowed Scott to compete with over four generations of the same line. In 2023 Scott attended the World Trial in Ireland with Pip and Mist. Pip placed 3rd making Scott the highest placing North American handler ever, in the World Trial. When he returned, he was inducted into the American Border Collie Hall of Fame on the same night as Alice was also inducted. That weekend he also won his 7th USBCHA National Championship with Pip (Pip's first win) and was Reserve Champion with Alice's granddaughter, Mist who was only 2 years old.

Sergio has quite an impressive list of accomplishments with his dogs! He’s won the English National on two occasions and was also Reserve Champion. He’s finished 7th in the Supreme Final and he’s been a Finalist in The Continental on two occasions. He was Reserve English National Nursery Champion and Royal Welsh Show Champion along with winning over 50 open trials.
He has judged all over the world including the German Nationals, French Nationals, Brazilian Nationals, English Nursery Finals, South American Championships and Belgium open trials and US open trials. He’s also given clinics all over the world with great success.
Besides such an impressive trialling career, Sergio has spent many years in the UK as a contract shepherd tending 400-2500 sheep.
This is a great opportunity to work with a master of Border Collies, trialing and sheep. He has lots of experience working with and training all levels and types of dogs and all aspects of trialing, as well as, a great understanding of sheep.
Angie Driscoll was born in the UK but moved to New Zealand at a young age. She grew up a running enthusiast and when not running at the beach she was off visiting her grandparents' farms. After completing degrees in Physical Education and Marketing at Otago University in NZ, she was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to do her Ph.D. in Canada. After finishing her Ph.D., Angie started a successful consulting practice. In 2007 she 'retired' from the corporate world to spend time with her border collies. She now manages a 70 acre farm with 220 sheep in Wales, and trains and competes with her dogs. Lessons and Clinic. Entry Form Pending.
